The Punta Tinosa Wrecks were three old fishing vessels that were sunk in 2004 for the purpose of diving and creating artificial reefs. The boats had been thoroughly prepared and tethered by ropes before they were scuttled. It is possible to dive all three wrecks at a time following the connecting ropes. The first wreck that is touching a small ridge of rocks can be found at a depth of 16m/52ft. The second wreck lies at a distance of about 30m/98ft from the first one, at a depth of approximately 22m. The third wreck, which is less interesting because it was stripped of many features before it was sunk, can be found somewhat deeper from the second wreck. It is possible to dive at this dive site all year round, but the most comfortable diving conditions are during the summer months, when the average water temperature rises to 26C/79F. During the winter the average water temperature drops down to 18-19C/64-66F. Although, the wrecks were sunk very recently, they are constantly attracting more and more marine life. Usually shoals of smaller fish can be seen around the wrecks, such as bogues or sea bream.
