Koh Lipe scuba dive sites in Thailand

Often called “the Maldives of Thailand”, Koh Lipe is one of Thailand’s great scuba diving destinations.
With an estimated 25% of the world’s tropical fish species being found here along with dugongs, dolphins, 3 species of turtle, minke and sperm whales, Koh Lipe is worth to visit.

Picture postcard white sand beaches, tropical palm trees and warm aquamarine waters make this an idyllic island destination. Important to note – it’s not crowded like other nearby islands. This is a group of around 20 islands; some are large and mountainous with primary rainforest and fringed by coral reefs; some are tiny rocky islets made of diorite, which is similar to granite but with less quartz. In the Andaman sea on the edge of Tarutao National Marien Park, one of Thailand’s oldest marine parks, Koh Lipe is close to several major islands surrounded by dive sites. Koh Lipe’s dive sites include dozens of coral reefs, but you can also dive on deep-sea pinnacles and a wreck. Highlights of marine life here include Dugong, common dolphins, Irrawaddy dolphin, sperm and minke whales, eagle rays, leopard sharks, whale sharks, devil rays, manta rays, sting rays, barracuda, and tuna. Macro photographers will love the critters such as harlequin shrimps, crustaceans, soft corals, nudibranch, and seahorses. Both beginners and advanced divers will find the sites suitable for them. However, some unique dive sites are only for more advanced divers.
