The Koh Rin is a part of the Far Island chain. It has three dive areas – North Rock (Hin Khao), Main Island and South Rock (Hin Ton Mai). All sites have a wide variety of aquatic life but are still different. The North Rock will enjoy divers who love small marine life but the South Rock offers some beautiful hard and soft corals.
Moving around to the south side, the corals thin out but the topography boasts nice cliffs and valleys down to a depth of about 14 meters. The secret dive site is a small wreck that attracts a swarm of yellow jacks
Around the island, you can spot turtles, pufferfish, porcupinefish, batfish, barracuda, marble rays, hard corals, sponges, sea whips, barrel sponges, blue-spotted stingrays, Harlequin Sweetlips, nudibranchs, pipefish, Razorfish, morays, bamboo sharks, table corals and sea anemones.
Koh Rin is small and currents can be strong here, however, there is a sheltered little bay for that relaxing dive.
The shallow bay is absolutely perfect for snorkeling, many coral mounds that are heavily pitted by bivalves and plume worms, with, between the mounds, Black Sea Urchins and small cowries shells.
