The local name for the reef is Chucho, which means stingray, due to the frequency of sightings here.

This is a stunning oval shaped reef, rising up from the bottom at 19 meters with the top of the reef at approximately 15 meters. We call this our house reef as it is only a 15-minute sail to this reef and right in front of our harbor. This is a favorite dive site for novice and more experienced divers because it boasts a large concentration of marine life at shallower and medium depths. The reef is also known by its local name Chucho, which means stingray, because of frequent sightings of stingrays in the surrounding waters. Roncadores or grunts unsuccessfully try to go unnoticed as they team and mill around. A peacock worm demonstrates the beautiful and yet fragile nature of the reef environment. Divers shouldn’t forget to look out into the “deep blue” as this is a zone where the pelagic fish pass by such as the rapid tunids and maybe even a formidable amberjack. Diving at Pasito Blanco Reef is possible all year round. However, the most comfortable conditions for diving are during the summer
